The head of the DPR, Denis Pushilin, called the attack a war crime of Kyiv, since the blow fell on residential areas, the city center. "There was no opposition, no attempts to damage the military infrastructure in this plan," he said.
The Tochka-U rocket used in the strike contained a cluster charge. Only one cassette worked in the center of Donetsk, if all of them had worked, the consequences would have been much worse, said Eduard Basurin, a representative of the People's Militia of the DPR.
The DPR is searching for the installation that fired the rocket. “Taking into account the fact that the range of Tochka-U is 120 kilometers, <…> it is quite difficult to find an enemy firing point quickly,” said the head of the republic, Denis Pushilin. According to him, a total of 15 Tochka-U missiles have been shot down over the DPR since the beginning of the offensive operation.
